The Thomas Steele Group

The Thomas Steele Group

An emerging saxophonist and music educator on Toronto‘s vibrant music scene, Thomas Steele has had the opportunity to connect with some of North America’s finest faces in jazz. From working with Maria Schneider, Gordon Foote, Alex Dean and Colleen Allen, to studying with Mike Murley, Kelly Jefferson and Tara Davidson, amongst others.

A saxophonist and woodwind doubler, Thomas has enjoyed performance opportunities through both big band and small jazz ensembles. He has participated in a variety of music festivals across Toronto, ON, and Montreal, QC, leading to invitations to perform across North America, from Niagara Falls, ON, to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Thomas has had the opportunity to perform with nationally acclaimed artists, including bassist Rich Brown and saxophonist Nick Morgan.

The Thomas Steele Group has played across Toronto’s most notable jazz venues, including The Rex, The Emmet Ray, The Tranzac, The Cavern and beyond. The Thomas Steele Group looks forward to sharing their music at the 2019 Toronto Undergraduate Jazz Festival.
