The Anthology Project

Inspired by Thomas King’s assertion that stories make up all that we are, The Anthology Project pays homage to novels, poems and stories that we hold dear. The Toronto-based ensemble explores themes and motifs from works by writers ranging from 18th-century essayists to 21st-century TV writers, using improvisation as a vehicle for building narrative. Formed in 2016 by bassist/composer Wesley Collett-Taylor, and featuring some of Toronto’s finest young musicians the project draws on the traditions of jazz, folk, and funk music to create unique moments of sound and story. Their first single, And The Ports Have Names For the Sea was released online in 2017, and their EP Port Cities is slated for release at the end of 2018.
