The Chris Maskell Quartet
Born in Ottawa, Ontario, saxophonist Chris Maskell is an emerging artist in both the Montreal and Ottawa jazz scenes. He is a recent graduate of McGill University’s jazz program and has studied privately with saxophonists Donny Kennedy, Frank Lozano and Rémi Bolduc.
Maskell has a rich performing history, and has most recently appeared in Montreal and Ottawa as the leader of the Chris Maskell Quartet. Previously, he has performed with Seamus Blake, Josh Rager, the Nic Gaumond Octet, the TD Jazz Youth Summit, the Yamaha All-Star Band 2012, the Maskell/Cousineau Quintet, Static Gold, the Capital Youth Jazz Orchestra, the Nepean All-City Jazz Band, the Stevens & Kennedy Band, the Crane Latin Ensemble, GPM & Prosper and the History of Gunpowder, among others. Additionally, Maskell has played at events such as the Ottawa Jazz Festival, the Montreal Jazz Festival and the Ottawa Blues Festival.
