Dan Pitt Quartet
Guitarist, composer, and arranger Dan Pitt, is an active member of the Hamilton and Toronto music scene mainly focusing on jazz. He has had the opportunity to study with notable musicians such as Bob Shields, David Restivo and Geoff Young during his time at Mohawk College and the University of Toronto. He has also worked with Pat Collins and David Braid, and recorded with the Hamilton All Star Jazz Band and the University of Toronto 12tet.
The Dan Pitt Quartet features current and former University of Toronto students and draws on influences such as Fred Herch, Ornette Coleman, Paul Motian, Joe Henderson and others. The quartet aims to play compositions by the band members and other influential musicians that merge genres such as jazz, classical, folk and metal in the style of traditional, modern and free jazz.
