Daron McColl Trio
Daron McColl Trio is a fairly new group in the Toronto scene comprised of 3 York University undergraduate students Daron McColl - Guitar, Christopher Goncalves - Upright Bass and Jon Catanus - Drums. This group's main focus is about interaction between the members as they tell a story and take the listener to new places in the music. With repertoire ranging from traditional jazz formatted songs, to free exploratory improvisation. Much of the music in this group is original, written by the members of the trio. This group is heavily influenced by the music of Keith Jarrett and Kurt Rosenwinkel as well as Toronto based musician such as Artie Roth and Robi Botos.
