Nebyu Yohannes Group

Torombonist and composer Nebyu Yohannes presents the beginning of a new group, NYG which feature current students and graduates of Humber College. All compositions are written by Yohannes, drawing on his influences such as Brian Blade and the Fellowship Band, John Coltrane, Ambrose Akinmusire, Knxwledge, and Fiona Apple. The music of NYG offers a refreshing blend of contemporary jazz, ambient and alternative music. The ensemble promotes cathartic music which is intended to draw out emotional tensions and alleviate the listener through a musical soundscape.
